English Learner Advisory Committee

At Monte Vista Elementary, our ELAC is a subset group within our School Site Council. We discuss data related to English Language Learners as well as the English Language Learner experience (academic and social-emotional) and ways to improve. We collect quantitative and qualitative data from staff, students, and parents. We also in the past have held education nights (about our curriculum and instructional strategies) and assessment awareness nights (related to ELPAC and SBAC) for our ELL students' parents. We have in the past and will continue to create community builder events, meetings, and forums by which we can continue to help all of our ELL families and their students feel respected, valued, and part of the Monte Vista family.
