We Need You- Survey Poll/Introduction for 2026-2027 School Site Vision Council and/or English Learners Advisory Council
Dear Monte Vista TK-8 Families and Community,
As part of our school’s journey to soar to greater heights, we encourage the involvement of parents and families with important school-level decision-making in the education of our blue jay students. Therefore, I would like to cordially invite you to serve as an important member of one of the following two councils for the 2026-2027 school year (keep in mind PTO Board is also still looking for room coordinator parents and event committee volunteers):
1) The School Site Vision Council is composed of staff members (teachers, classified staff, etc.) and parents/community members. The council meets once a month (online/virtual) throughout the school year to decide how we can best meet the educational needs of our blue jay scholars, so they can succeed in school. For example, we review and evaluate our school academic and behavioral goals, our school budget, our school academic and behavioral performance data, safety and belonging, and our school policies—and the effective alignment of all these components with one another. We will be using this team to help gather ongoing feedback to better implement our expanded TK-8 configuration, and our school model and vision/mission in order to effectively impact our school for years to come! If you are interested in serving on this council, please complete the attached Parent Square poll to this email. All parents who apply will be invited to participate on the council.
2) The English Learners Advisory Council is composed of staff members and parents/community members as well. The council meets once a month (online/virtual) throughout the school year to decide how we can best meet the educational needs of our blue jay scholars who are multilingual or have more than one language spoken in the home. Similar to School Site Council, many topics will be discussed and reviewed as it pertains specifically to multilingual students including instructional programs and approaches, funding, during and after school resources, building community, and more! This team will be essential in representing the voices of all (and many) multilingual families on campus and helping us improve wrap around service needs and academic achievement of our multilingual students. If you are interested in serving on this council, please complete the attached Parent Square poll to this email. All parents who apply will be invited to participate on the council.
See attached Parent Square poll to this email for signing up for one of these two councils.
