MPUSD Preschool Meal Service

MPUSD Preschool Meal Service: Due to the unexpected closure of our preschools, MPUSD wants to ensure our preschool children have access to food during the two-week closure. (Our TK-12 programs are observing their regularly scheduled Spring Break. We will continue to monitor the situation beyond Spring Break and address accommodations as needed for TK-12 programs.)

MCOE Health Alert Page for Coronavirus

Cold and flu season is upon us. The California Department of Public Health reports that influenza (also known as the flu) activity levels have increased over the past several weeks, including here in Monterey County.

The 2019-2020 flu season has been complicated by recent reports of a novel coronavirus originating in Wuhan, China. Although there have been reported cases of novel coronavirus globally, to date, there have been no reported coronavirus cases in Monterey County.

Continuing Progress in MPUSD through Partnership and Collaboration

Over the past six years, the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District and the Monterey Bay Teachers Association have partnered to make significant progress in improving salaries for our deserving teachers and staff. Since the 2012-2013 school year, teacher salaries have increased between 20% and 34%, with our most experienced teachers now earning over $100,000. (Read more by clicking headline ...)

Two Monterey Peninsula Unified Schools Receive Prestigious State Recognition

Two Monterey Peninsula Unified School District elementary schools have been recently recognized by the California Department of Education and will be formally honored on February 10, 2020, during an awards ceremony at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. Monte Vista Elementary School in Monterey, California was named a 2020 California Distinguished School by the California Department of Education, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. School of the Arts received a 2020 California Exemplary Arts Education Award.

Monte Vista Elementary Summer Hours

The Monte Vista Elementary office will be open from June 10th-June 20th from 9AM-3PM. Any enrollment needing to take place from June 24th-July 16th can be done at the District Student Enrollment Office Hours (closed Fridays) from 8AM-5PM. The Monte Vista office will reopen on July 17th and be open from 9AM-3PM through August 2nd. On August 5th, normal office hours of 7:30AM-4PM will resume.
