Special Education
Currently, our school site has one certificated resource specialist teacher and two supportive instructional aides to provide special education services to all of our students who are eligible for and have an individualized education plan related to academic, cognitive, speech, and/or social-emotional learning and behavioral needs.
Some students also receive occupational therapy support. Some services are provided in the classroom while other services are provided outside the classroom in a separate room, with a majority of the minutes spent in the general education classroom.
Students who have IEP's have parent and teacher agreed upon goals to track their progress and document their needed supports (inside and outside the classroom) in order to achieve their goals. Annual and Tri-ennial meetings are held with parents to review assessment data and progress with IEP goals.
