Field Trips

All grade levels participate in at least 3-4 fieldtrips per school year. All of them connect to either the English Language Arts, Math, Science (STEM), Health, Music, Art, or Social Studies curriculum. We make sure each grade level goes on at least one fieldtrip that connects to one of their Science STEMScopes modules as well. Fieldtrips are partly funded by our site budget and partly funded by our Parent Teacher Organization, Monte Vista Blue Jays Inc. Our fifth graders also get to attend a week-long Outdoor Education Science School experience in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Lastly, each grade level gets to attend a fieldtrip that is funded by our district visual and performing arts council, in conjunction with the Arts Council of Monterey County.
