Important Information Regarding Monte Vista Elementary Grade Expansion Monte Vista Elementary will expand to be TK-8 schools by adding 7th grade in the 2022-2023 school year and 8th grade in the 2023-2024 school year. In order to support Monte Vista’s expansion, the Board recently approved the reconfiguration and consolidation plan that will move Monte Vista permanently to the Walter Colton campus starting with 1st through 7th grade in 2022-2023 and then become a full Monte Vista Transitional Kindergarten through 8th grade starting in 2023-2024.

Community Meetings: Reconfiguration & Consolidation of Schools MPUSD continues its path toward implementing a transitional kindergarten - grade 6 model in the 2021-22 school year, as well as TK - Grade 8 models, attendance boundaries, and school consolidations in 2022-23. The district held virtual staff meetings with various schools at the end of January and early February, and hosted stakeholder engagement in community meetings in February. Monte Vista Elementary Makes California Honor Roll Monterey, CA, June 10th, Monte Vista Elementary has been recognized as a 2018 - 2019 Educational Results Partnership Honor Roll school for its high achievement in student success.
Monte Vista Elementary Summer Hours The Monte Vista Elementary office will be open from June 10th-June 20th from 9AM-3PM. Any enrollment needing to take place from June 24th-July 16th can be done at the District Student Enrollment Office Hours (closed Fridays) from 8AM-5PM. The Monte Vista office will reopen on July 17th and be open from 9AM-3PM through August 2nd. On August 5th, normal office hours of 7:30AM-4PM will resume.
